We are one of the quirkiest hostel in East London! We have 220 beds in the middle of Shoreditch, the centre of London’s hipster and alternative cultures.
We have created a hostel with character and style unlike any other. We have loads of useful facilities, a bar (with a discount for guests), WiFi, a kitchen and 24-hour reception.
However, we’ve also added some fun things to make your stay more memorable: we have table football, swings in some of the rooms, events in the evenings and discounted tickets for many London attractions and a roof terrace.
Our location is always very popular with guests – right in the middle of Shoreditch, with its bars and alternative arts scene, but also within easy reach of London’s traditional attractions.
There are so many cool events and places to see in Shoreditch and an endless amount of creativity to be found. Whether you want to get down and dirty in a London boozer or just get down with a dirty martini; there isn’t a part of London more alive with contradictions, flavour, colour…
People from all corners of the world come to see, explore, shop, drink, eat and stay in Shoreditch. It is the gateway to East London and represents all that is cool, hip, alternative, quirky and on trend.
Our address is 10-20 Kingsland Road, London, E2 8DA. We are situated in the city centre on the east side and are in Zone 1 for the Underground.
There are many ways to reach the hostel, amongst them:
The Dictionary Hostel is one of the newest hostels in London. We opened fully in August 2013 and still talk of the town. We have been featured in The Sunday Times, EasyJet’s In-flight Magazine, El País, Time Out Brasil and Huffington Post. What’s more, we were included as a Top 10 Hostel by Visit London and Visit Britain in both 2012 and 2013 and in December 2014 HostelsClub named us one of the 10 cleanest hostels in London.
Our staff are dedicated to providing each and every one of our guests with the very best in customer service.
If you want to talk to us, we have a 24/7 reception.
And, if you fancy being part of our team, don’t be shy, drop us a line at iwanttowork@thedictionaryhostel.com
During our creation, we were able to make use of the latest knowledge in design. So, we’re proud to say that The Dictionary Hostel is heated with solar panels, has a green roof on the grow and is fiercely committed to being environmentally sustainable.
Located next door, the Tuk-Tuk bar is the perfect taste of the local East London lifestyle. Great food and amazing cocktails, and, of course, the BEERS!
