What is The Dictionary Hostel?

A hostel provides budget and sociable accommodation where you can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a shared dormitory (they can be mixed in some hostels). You will also share bathroom, TV room/kitchen.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is complimentary for all our guests.

Are the dorms mixed?

Yes, most of our dorms are mixed, have we have a 6-bed and an 8-bed female-only dorm. More details on the rooms page 😉

Are the bathrooms mixed or single sex?

Yes, the bathrooms are mixed.

Do you have single / twin / double rooms?

Yes, we have private rooms with en-suite and shared facilities.

Is there a curfew?

There is no curfew. You are able to come and go at any time.

Can I have friends / family visiting me in The Dictionary Hostel?

Not inside the hostel, but you are always welcome to meet friends in the adjoining Claudia’s Cafe for great coffee, lunch and vegan options.

How can I contact a guest at your hostel?

Only if the guest has allowed us to provide info about them staying with us we will do our best to contact him/her. We do not have phones in the rooms. You can always call or email us to leave a message for them and we will do our to contact them.

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag / bedding?

No, you don’t! Bedding (linen) is included.

Do you offer long term luggage storage?

No, we don’t. We don’t have the space, sorry!

Do you know about any tours / activities?

Yes! We can recommend you a free walking tour of central London. We also sell discounted tickets for the East End Alternative Walking Tour (£12) and a local pub crawl (£12) that runs every night. 🙂 You can pay when you book at reception when you arrive. Ask at reception for tickets for other attractions. Check the Events section on our App for things happening during your stay with us. East London is never boring!
