Is it nearly May already? The year is flying by so it’s always good to take a minute and just plan your way through the months to make the most of them! This May sees two Bank Holiday weekends and tonnes of things to do around London, so check out our favourite events!

 

London Craft Week – 3rd – 7th May

One of our favourite festivals in London is back! Last year we crafted away learning new skills on several art forms, from pottery to textiles, and came out with some fantastic knowledge and a few handmade treasures to keep! Over in the East End, you can watch live demonstrations, join workshops and go on tours of studios. Booking is highly recommended so get searching and booking to guarantee a crafty good time!

Don’t you just love a good pop-up? Especially when it’s beer themed! Brooklyn Brewery Mash are treating us to a multi-roomed experience in Dalston with live music, demos, food and, of course, gallons of beer! With exclusive access to experimental beers and food, the night will be packed full of surprises around every corner. Live DJ’s will be spinning vinyl, The Graveltones and Messenger will be provide the live tunes and Voodoo Ray’s will be with their truck selling fresh pizza. The evenings will run from 7PM – 11PM, with tickets at £10.

It’s the campest night of the year, the beloved Eurovision Song Contest! The Water Poet have been screening the event every year for free, with nine screens dotted around the place and a dedicated cinema screen for those who want to watch the entire night straight through! Alongside the screening, there will be a smorgasbord of extra activities including a costume contest, a feast of Swedish meatballs and Sausages and an Abba-solut cocktail cave!

Spin returns this year and they’re taking over the Old Truman Brewery! The festival houses a curated selection of cycling’s leading experts, creators and makers, from legendary brands to new and exciting start-ups. With over 100 exhibitors to try and buy from, expert talks, workshops, live music and DJ’s and street food from some of East London’s beloved vendors, Spin is perfect for the most enthusiastic cyclists to those looking to get into the sport. Getting tickets early is highly recommended!

 

 

MCM London Comic Con – 27th – 29th May

Brace yourselves… the fans are coming! That’s right, it’s time for Spring’s edition of MCM London Comic Con again, the huge convention that brings every aspect of pop culture to one venue. With dealer stalls, games, cosplay, rare memorabilia and photos with the stars, this is one convention you don’t wanna miss if you’re part of any fandom! Special guests this year include Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), Elizabeth Henstridge and Nick Blood (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Willa Holland (The O.C., Gossip Girl, Arrow) and Warwick Davis (Harry Potter, Star Wars).
